I still take at least one  backpacking trip in the Sierras each year. Last year the trip started at on the eastern Sierra at Devils Postpile, near Mammoth Lakes California. We hiked south along the John Muir Trail to the Indian Lakes Region where we turned west heading back toward Lake Edison. Our last night on the trail was at Lower Graveyard Lake.  The storm gathered late afternoon confining us to the tent for nearly two hours. By the next morning the storm had cleared.
