OLD PHOTOS DISCOVERED
Sitting home unable to be out and about this weekend I spent some time going through my photo library and rediscovered images from a backpacking trip in 2003 up the Tuolumne River from White Wolf to Tuolumne Meadows. It was four day three night hike in a less commonly traveled part of Yosemite National Park
The trip starts at the High Sierra Camp White Wolf and the trail descends to the Tuolumne River upstream from Hetch Hetchy Reservoir crossing the river and follows on the north side of he river. Our first nights campsite was and to confluence of Register Creek and the Tuolumne River. The water flow was quite good as it was still early in the summer and the snow melt was in full swing. On the third day we hiked p to Glen Aulin, another of the High Sierra Camps in Yosemite. Here the view down stream was filled with the river flowing down the canyon around granite mountains. The view up stream is the unique water fall the White Cascade. On the last days hike out we approached Tuolumne Meadows the fiver flattens out flowing through the meadow with the view of Cathedral Peak in the background. The final photo is of Tenaya Lake and the surrounding granite mountain Domes Polly Dome, Pywiack Dome, and Medlicott Dome.
