Today if decided to do a warm up hike for the planned ascent of Mt Shasta next weekend. The Chilnualna Falls Trail from Wawona in Yosemite NP is a nice steady climb of 2200 feet over 4 miles. While nothing like walking across snow I can at least say this hike was not too bad. Maybe I’m ready?
Here is the route I followed:
The trail follows the Chilnualna creek up from Wawona where a series of cascades and moderate water falls a roaring! One of my favorite falls is the seasonal creeks crossing the trail three quarters of the way up. Since I was hiking by myself i was able to spend a little time at this lively location, trying different positions and multiple exposures. Here are couple of shots
Which do You like better?
As went on up to the top of the falls, the water was so torrent and the light so bright the photos were not very pretty. The mist from the falls did create a rainbow.
